- Health Effects - Impact of air pollutants on development of mucosal and systemic immunity in children
My research focuses on the developmental mechanisms of mucosal and systemic immunity, and how early exposure to air pollutants and other environmental challenges can contribute to chronic health conditions in children and adults. Current experimental work includes chemokine-mediated mechanisms of leukocyte trafficking in the lung and cytokine signaling pathways in airway epithelium.
I teach general immunology (IMM 201) for the Immunology Graduate Group. I also contribute a lecture series on chemokine/cytokine biology in Cellular Basis of Disease (PMI 285).
