  • Global Climate Change - Large-scale climate response to natural and human-caused changes in atmospheric composition.]

Research Summary

My research involves understanding, at a very fundamental level, the physical and dynamical mechanisms that govern climate variability. Current projects include examining (1) the effects of natural and human-caused changes in stratospheric ozone on Earth’s climate, (2) the effects of variations in solar spectral irradiance on climate variability, and (3) the role of extratropical-tropical interactions on long-term changes in middle-latitude weather patterns.

Teaching Summary

Undergraduate Level: Atmospheric Dynamics I (ATM 121a) Atmospheric Dynamics II (ATM 121b) Graduate Level: Advanced Atmospheric Dynamics (ATM 221)
