Scientists Study What Wildfire Smoke Could Do to Our Bodies Long-Term

With the immediate dangers of the Northern California wildfires under control, scientists from UC Davis begin to explore the long-term effects and impact of the smoke on our health. The Center for Health and Environment looked at filters that collected particulates during the wildfires.

What is normally collected over four weeks in a filter accumulated in just six hours. That's what our lungs filtered as well.

What the Air Quality Rating Means for You

Although California’s worst wildfire ever is now 100% contained, Bustle explores the lingering effects on the air quality and what it means for residences. Experts Anthony Wexler and Laura Kate Bender explain how to use the Air Quality Index (AQI) to check for dangers and keep yourself safe.

VICE Explores Worsening California Air Quality

Anthony Wexler explores what is causing such poor levels of air quality, why short-term solutions aren’t working, and what we can do to mitigate these scenarios.
