I currently perform quality assurance on air quality data, processing and validating particulate data collected as part of the EPA's Chemical Speciation Network. Previously, my postgraduate and postdoctoral research focused on characterizing urban aerosols, specifically aerosol chemical composition, and determining potential aerosol sources by collecting and analyzing data predominantly from the Aerodyne Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (AMS). One of the main aims of my research has been to better understand the factors governing both high aerosol concentration events and seasonal trends in an urban environment to inform air quality policies and pollution abatement strategies. I am also interested in identifying the sources and key chemical components of atmospheric particulate matter (PM) that are potentially responsible for adverse health effects.
